Artist Statement

Through a camera, the language of my art expresses the layers and depths of a brief moment in existence. Every moment has a unique scene, and every scene has an extraordinary moment. While light and darkness play, colours perform, shapes dance, I watch until I see it unfold; wait for its truth, its tragedy, its beauty to come to light. Catching quickly what is to be revealed now in this unique scene, or waiting for its extraordinary moment.

Pat Cassidy

Pat Cassidy, a designer and art director, has been passionate about photography since college. She studied at Seneca College of Applied Arts and the Ontario College of Art and Design. Pat grew up sketching and painting in oils with her mother who is also an artist. She and her camera have traveled extensively throughout Canada and many remote corners of the world. Pat is an observer at heart, whether at home in Toronto, or on the road.

Pat's photographs are shot in film and transferred to paper without any digital manipulation.
